In April 2015 The Australian Association of Massage Therapists out out a press release stating that a document had been leaked to the media that suggested that massage could be scrapped form the Private Health Insurance Rebate Scheme. The press release speaks about the Cochrane standards that have been used that fail to take into consideration the external influences that impact on massage results. Currently, still nothing has been officially decided.
