“It Takes Courage” – My Story, by Elicia Crook
Listen as I share my story of how being diagnosed with severe scoliosis at age 13 shaped my 16 year career in Massage.
I overcame many business challenges and it was a rocky path as I grew a multidisciplinary clinic seeing 100+ clients per week across a team of nine staff.
I now hope to make it easier for others and to change the way our industry does business through sharing my story.

Hi Elicia
Loved your inspiration. I have a beauty salon and do massage to. I have very few massage clients but when they do come they love it. I get told all the time I have magic hands but never took that seriously. But I loved the passion you have to help others. That’s I know is what I am about more than anything but getting tired of the constant failure. Can a salon have a great massage business like yours. I’m only qualified in Swedish massage but happy to learn others if it builds my business. My business is really struggling and I need to find that niche to build it up.
Thanks for reaching out Vanessa! And for your kind comments. I’m so happy to hear that you love massage – it sounds like you’ve got a calling there (and beauty therapy is great too!)
You can have a great business doing relaxation or Swedish massage if you choose to :) and remedial massage and other modalities are also good if you choose to work with more complex cases.
